This is the front of my stereo. I'm unsure if you can see it well in this picture but the Volume/Balance knob on the right is actually one knob that is two. The bottom portion of the knob controls volume and the top part of the knob controls the balance. By mapping multiple functions to the same knob you lack good design. The suttle difference in height and knobs also makes it bad.
